A powder, permanent hair color? I was skeptical at first too. According to the product claims, the water-activated hair color is ammonia free and works to open the hair’s cuticles to give you even hair coverage. Being a hair-color junkie, I was eager to try the hair color!
The product is very easy to use and didn’t leave the mess that many of the bottled permanent hair colors I have used can leave. I used the Rich Medium Brown – 56 color in the hope of canceling out the red tones the sun brings out of my hair in the summer time. After thirty minutes, I was excited to see the color and to see if it could really hide the red tones.
The color turned out a rich brown, like the name suggested. However, the most unexpected part of the process was the silky feel of my hair after I used the product. The fact that there is no ammonia or hydrogen peroxide involved in the process must have helped leave my hair feeling silky and with a beautiful shine.
The product is available at CVS, Sally Beauty Supply, and Wal-Mart.
