Royalty. So many cliches and images pop into mind. White carriages, big balloon dresses, and shiny tiaras must be all the rage in that world. In 2010 being a Queen of a country entails a lot more than happily ever afters. While Queen Rania was not born into royalty, she did find her Prince along with her own version of happily ever after. Her mission in life is ensuring that all children all over the world get the kind of education we all deserve.
Being the daughter of a doctor, Queen Rania grew up a bit more privileged than others in Kuwait. Her parents were in a position to ensure that she had a good education at the American University in Cairo, so she understands what kind of opportunities lie ahead when your educational goals are fulfilled. The most fascinating part about Queen Rania is not how she became Queen of Jordan but, how she is using her status and influence to make significant changes in her country and through out the world.
Queen Rania’s mission is not only to promote a better standard of education for the children of Jordan but, for children all over the world. A quality education is a means of creating a better quality of life for all people. A good standard of education through out the world, is an investment in our children’s future. Queen Rania has been working very hard with several organizations like, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UN Girls Education Initiative (UNGEI), the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), and the Jordan River Foundation.
The Queen has been a big proponent of providing teachers with the necessary tools to teach their students. Those tools include, proper educational facilities and updated technology like computers. Apart of her mission is to reform education in a interactive way by bringing the classroom into the 21st Century. It gives teachers new and exciting methods of bringing what is out there in the world into the classroom through the world wide web. It is a great form of creating a link between the classroom and other cultures. It allows teachers to find new methods of getting their students excited about the learning process. Not only are students excited about learning but, the teachers are challenged by the new curriculum.
Queen Rania strongly believes that education equals opportunity. Investing in education for all children is the key to changing the course of a nation. Education can lift people out of poverty and give them the tools and opportunities to improve the quality of their lives. When young minds are empowered with knowledge and the tools to learn, there are no limits to their success.
“Education is a human right for every child.”-Queen Rania of Jordan

Rich. Thank you for the kind words. Countries like Iran or Iraq may not appreciate her efforts in education like other Arab countries would but, the Queen is very respected through out other parts of the world. Unfortunately, some Arab nations do not hold a woman of those standards (educated, powerful, and influential) in high regard.

I ironically heard about the queen scouring my fashion blog postings. After reading this article, I hold her in even higher respect. A woman who not only has amazing fashion sense, but also a compassionate heart. A true queen. And a good article too! :)
