“I just can’t lose this extra 10 pounds.”
“I have no time to think, let alone workout.”
“If I could just lose this weight, I’d be so happy.”
Sound familiar? In a world where we put so much pressure on our physical appearance, even the hottest of us can feel frustrated with where we are – whether we are frustrated with out bodies, our work, or ourselves.
Trainer, healer, and life coach Dennis Grounds understands where this frustration comes from and has set out to make the lives of his clients (and you too, lucky Chickolith reader) a happy and healthy one. Immediately upon entering Training Grounds For Life, Grounds’ West Hollywood studio, an overwhelming sense of calm embraces you. Perhaps it is the beautiful courtyard, or the Buddha on top of the outdoor fireplace, but more than likely, it is Dennis himself.
“I am so blessed,” Dennis said as he was giving Chickolith a tour of his studio. He radiates gratitude for his space, which Forbes has ranked as the #1 most luxurious studio in the nation. The story which led Dennis to open Training Grounds For Life serves as an inspiration to anyone who wants to pursue their dreams.
“It’s a total story about faith and trust and destiny,” Dennis said as he started to explain how he went from being an independent contractor at a gym to owning his own studio. “I was at that juncture where I could go do the same or totally step out in to the unknown and do something uncomfortable and get my dreams fulfilled.”
Luckily for Dennis’ clients, he chose to take a leap of faith and open his revolutionary studio. Dennis’ method, known as the R.A.Y.
method, stands for Radiance About Yourself. “I’m working on bringing the light from within out.” It is this approach that makes Dennis stand out from the rest. “I was just true to what I wanted.”
Because Dennis is able to incorporate training, life coaching, and healing, he treats the whole person, not just one aspect of their health. Body, mind, and spirit are all nourished at Dennis’ studio.
“Ive always wanted to create something different,” Dennis said. And he did. Rather than relying on only shaping the body, he works to bring out the best in each person through life coaching and healing work. “I teach people how to heal themselves. It’s a gift I have.”
This doesn’t mean you have to necessarily believe in Dennis’ intuitive powers; however, he uses it as a tool.
“I combine the healing and my coaching and suddenly people have these openings and realizations – it’s like quantum leap – without going through years and years of therapy,” Dennis said. “People hire me to play their best game in life. I give them speed and power to help them achieve their goals. ”
This three-fold approach to overall wellness is the reason why Dennis is able to work with Hollywood’s A-list, but he still makes his services affordable to the working woman. Although Dennis is based in West Hollywood, he does provide services online or over the phone.
Dennis provided these three pieces of wellness wisdom for our Chickolith readers:
There is no quick fix.
People are looking for a quick fix for an event, the event comes and goes, and they go back to their old habits. There is no quick fix – it’s a lifestyle and behavior. Let’s learn this for a lifetime.
Fitness tip: KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid.
It really is this simple: less calories in, more out. Cut your complex carbs – your breads, pastas, potatoes.
Structure and accountability.
Structure and accountability are huge. If people are interested in getting in any type of program, get accountability. Get a trainer or a friend to hold you accountable. Get a day planner, get some structure. The most successful people will tell you that how they got successful wasn’t their smarts or money, it was structure and accountability.
